Ray Family-Family Home Evening
It was Grandma and Grandpa Ray's turn to plan the lesson.  So Grandma Ray collected several croquet sets and we met a the park near their house.  Everyone had a great time playing croquet in the park.  We went back to their house for dinner.  I love spending time with the RAY FAMILY!  Families definitely are Forever!

Ragnar 2011
February 25, 2011

?, Bridgett, ?, John, Jorgi, Rob

John likes running so much that he put together a Ragnar team. There are 12 people running for 24 hours. They ran for a total of 200 miles from Wikenburg to Tempe. He was glad he did it, but the experience had not turned out as he had hoped. He decided he will probably do another one, but not be the captain of another team! I think he is just plain crazy to even want to do such a thing!

Valentine's Day !

Every year for Valentine's Day I make sure that everyone has two boxes of the sweetheart candies.  (the little ones with messages on them.)  I also sprinkle heart confetti on the table and hang a sign that says, "I Love You!"  This year I did all that and wanted to do something a bit different.  So I hand dipped strawberries in chocolate for John and made heart shaped pancakes for the kids.  What a great day to be able to show and tell my family how much I love them.  I have the best family in the whole wide world.  (and you can quote me on that :} ! )

Let them eat cake!

One of Emily's favorite things to do is decorate cakes.  Whatever the occasion she wants to make a cake for it.  As one of her value projects for young women she got permission to make individual cakes for "New Beginnings".  She made around 15 cakes and decorated them.  I found little tiaras to put on top since their theme was about princesses and casstles.  The cakes were placed on the tables for all to admire and eat.  The evening turned out very nice.  Way to go Emily!

What a way to spend baseball season.  I signed Hayden up for basball on Saturday, and on Monday he crashes his bike and breaks his leg!  I took him to urgent care, and they tell me it is just a pulled MCL.  So he goes two weeks with a brace on.  At that point he still can't put any pressure on it so we go to a sports therapist and he sends back to the orthopedic surgeon.  Sure enough it is broken, at the knee...at the growth plate.  Since it has already been over two weeks, they give him the option of a brace or cast.  He chose the brace so he can take it off to scratch and bathe.  What a trooper.  He went around school for six weeks using crutches.  Very difficult, but he toughed it out!
